Con Intel: Silicon Valley Comic Con Announces First Wave of Guests
by Transmute Jun
Silicon Valley Comic Con (SVCC) came onto the scene earlier this year, holding its debut show in San Jose, California last spring. While not without its first-year problems, attendees enjoyed its unique blend of pop culture and technology, and convention staff were eager to improve, to make the show bigger and better. SVCC gets its chance next year, when Silicon Valley Comic Con will be held April 21-23, 2017 at the San Jose Convention Center.
SVCC has just announced its first big wave of guests, including genial host and SVCC founder Steve Wozniak, actor William Shatner, educator and television personality Adam Savage, and astronaut Buzz Aldrin. Even this small group illustrates SVCC’s cross-interest appeal, highlighting both entertainment and scientific aspects in its programming.

In addition, SVCC will play host to cast members from Star Trek: The Next Generation, celebrating that show’s 30th anniversary, along with a number of renowned scientists, including physicist Sabrina Gonzalez Pasterski and beamed energy propulsion pioneer Laetitia Garriott de Cayeux.
Conveniently, general attendee badges are now on sale (VIP badges went on sale a few weeks ago, but are still available). A regular 3-day badge costs $99. As an added incentive, everyone who purchases their badge before October 1 will have the chance to win a ride with Steve Wozniak in his golf cart as he moves around SVCC next year. Badges can be purchased here.
