Con Intel: Female-Influenced Toys and Entertainment at NYCC

IAmElemental and Women In Toys will both be represented at the upcoming New York Comic Con (NYCC), which runs from October 6-9. Both companies have a mission to further the representation of women in the toy and entertainment markets.

IAmElemental creates female action figures gear for children. These figures embody various superpowers, and will be available for sale, and through giveaways and raffles, at IAmElemental’s booth #1764. The booth will also offer attendees the opportunity to take a picture with Exploration’s Wings, the main aspect of one of their newest figures. Attendees who have their photo taken will receive a cloth superhero mask, or one of 2 button pins. IAmElemental will also be selling many of their figures, and holding raffles for posters and figures. These events will be going on throughout the convention.

Women In Toys is a professional organization whose goal is to promote the presence of women in the toy licensing and entertainment industries. The will be hosting the panel “Strong is Beautiful – Empowering Girls Through Entertainment” with a number of female executives from the toy and entertainment industries to discuss their mission. The panel will be held on Sunday, October 9 at 12:15 pm in Room 1A02 at the Javitz Center.
